Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing about you, directly. TubeTagger doesn't require an account, doesn't ask for your email, and doesn't store the YouTube URLs you paste in or the tags it returns. Each search happens in your browser and is gone once you close the tab.

How the tool actually works

When you paste a YouTube URL, your browser sends that URL to a third-party proxy service (we currently use services like allorigins.win and codetabs.com) so it can fetch the public page data without running into browser security restrictions. That request includes the YouTube URL you pasted and is subject to that proxy provider's own privacy practices, which we don't control. We never receive or store this data on our own servers, because we don't run a backend server at all — TubeTagger is a static site.

Cookies & analytics

TubeTagger does not use cookies or any analytics or tracking scripts. [NOTE_TO_SELF: replace this line if analytics are ever added — see the fuller draft for the alternate wording.]

Third-party services we rely on

• CORS proxy providers (allorigins.win, codetabs.com, or similar) — to fetch public YouTube page data, as described above.
• Google Fonts — to load the typefaces used on this site. Loading fonts this way can share your IP address with Google's font servers.
• Cloudflare — hosts the static site files and logs standard server access data (IP address, browser type, request time) for security and uptime purposes, per their own policy.

Children's privacy

TubeTagger is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age, since we don't collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If how the tool works changes (for example, if we add an account system, analytics, or a paid tier), we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
